Checking The Components And Wiring

Check the signal cable (+) between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A62 (#B2) and engine speed (RPM) sensor connector terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for an open-circuit.

Check the signal cable (+) between control module terminal #A21 (#21) and engine speed (RPM) sensor connector terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for an open-circuit.

Remedy as necessary.
