Checking the signal cable

Ignition off
Disconnect the 20-pin connector (group A) from the central electronic module (CEM)
Disconnect the 1-pin connector from the generator (GEN) (1B).
Check the signal cable between central electronic module (CEM) terminal #5A and generator (GEN) terminal #1B (the red / white cable with flat pin). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for an open-circuit.

In the event of an open-circuit, also check connectors 54/1 and 54/3.

Remedy as necessary.
