Checking The Status

Ignition on.
Read out the status of the P position sensor.
Move the gear selector to gear position D . Then move the gear selector lever back to the P position. Status should indicate whether the gear selector is in the P position.

If the status changes, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but is not active at the moment, i. e. an intermittent fault.
