Fault-Tracing Information

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may for example be stored when:

• High outside temperature or engine compartment temperature combined with "hard driving".
• Mechanical or hydraulic fault in the power steering system (example: steering gear, hoses or pipes blocked).

If the fault is intermittent it means that it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can occur due to a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.

Check the above and remedy as necessary. Replace the electrical power steering module (EPS) if the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) subsequently recurs with a permanent status and no fault can be found (as above).
