EGR Valve
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve. See Figure . Connect vacuum pump to EGR valve. With engine at idle, apply vacuum to EGR valve. EGR valve should hold vacuum and engine should die.
- If engine does not die and/or vacuum does not hold, replace EGR valve. If vacuum holds but engine does not die, remove EGR valve and check for plugged valve or passages. Clean or replace EGR valve as necessary.
