Dashboard Replacement

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *

SRS components are located in this area Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body or the other related parts
- Take care not to bend the brackets
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components
- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work
- Remove these items from the dashboard area
- A-pillar trim, both sides (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - PILLAR AREAS )
- Instrument fascia (see DRIVER'S SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Driver's switch panel (see DRIVER'S SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Driver's dashboard undercover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Hood release handle (see HOOD RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT )
- Dashboard center vent (see DASHBOARD CENTER VENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center console (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Glove box (see GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Driver's side vent (see DRIVER'S SIDE VENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's side vent (see DRIVER'S SIDE VENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Side defogger vent trim, both sides (see SIDE DEFOGGER VENT TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )

- With keyless access system Remote slot (see REMOTE SLOT CONTROL UNIT )
Driver's side
- Remove the harness clip (A) from between the A-pillar (B) and the dashboard (C)
Center
- Remove the clip, then remove the center joint duct (A)
- Release the harness clips (A, B) from below the display unit opening
Passenger's side
- Remove the harness clip (A) from between the A-pillar (B) and the dashboard (C)
- Remove the bolts securing the dashboard (A)
Bolt specification: 5 x 0.8 mm, 5 N.m (0.5 kgf.m, 4 lbf.ft)
- Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door openingNOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it
- Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly
- Make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched before tightening the bolts
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION )
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them
