Voice Control Switch Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the driver's airbag assembly (see DRIVER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
2. Remove the 20P connector from the cable reel.

3. Measure the resistance between the No. 18 and No. 20 terminals in each switch position according to the table.
   RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS
   
   

   Position	Resistance
   No button pressed	About 10 kΩ
   Navigation TALK button pressed	About 2.2 kΩ
   Navigation BACK button pressed	About 652 Ω

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the audio remote switch (see AUDIO REMOTE SWITCH TEST ), and replace the voice control switch (see VOICE CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENT  ).
5. Use a diode tester between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

6. If the diode test is not as specified, replace the audio remote switch (see AUDIO REMOTE SWITCH TEST ), and replace the voice control switch (see VOICE CONTROL SWITCH REPLACEMENT  ).
