Steering Wheel: Installation
- Viewing from bottom of steering wheel, if contact ring is not centered (arrows do not line up), see CONTACT RING under ADJUSTMENTS before completing steering wheel installation.
- Guide contact ring wiring down through column. Position steering wheel onto shaft splines using reference mark for realignment positioning, and, at the same time, accurately align column locking pins into opening in contact ring on bottom of steering wheel.
- Install and tighten steering wheel hub nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article. Connect horn wiring. Install driver-side air bag module. Activate SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Perform system operation check to verify system is functionality. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
