Steering Pump Pressure
- Disconnect pressure line from pump. Disconnect pressure line from flow control regulator. Connect Power Steering Pressure Tester (32-4-000).
- Shut gauge cut-off valve on pressure tester. Open in-line cut-off valve on pressure tester. Bleed system. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING
under LUBRICATION. With engine idling, close in-line cut-off valve on pressure tester for 10 seconds (maximum) while reading pressure.
- Pressure should be 1740-2031 psi (122-143 kg/cm2
). If pressure is not within limits, check belt adjustment. Repair or replace pump if belt adjustment does not remedy problem.
