Body Computer Module (BCM) Prom: Installation

CAUTION: The PROM carrier fits in only one direction, check for correct orientation in carrier before inserting into PROM socket. The carrier should not be forced into the socket with the wrong orientation. The small notch of the carrier should be aligned with the small notch of the socket. Press on the PROM carrier until it is firmly seated in the socket. Do not press on the PROM.
CAUTION: Anytime the PROM is installed backward because of improper orientation or installation in the PROM socket and the ignition is turned "ON", the PROM will be destroyed.
  1. Install PROM assembly in socket.
  2. Install PROM access cover.
  3. Install BCM.
  4. Connect negative battery cable.
