EEPROM Data Following Pcm Replacement
Since data contained in EEPROM is specific to vehicle that PCM is in, EEPROM should reset if PCM is installed in another vehicle. The PCM does this automatically by comparing season odometer value it has saved to season odometer value stored in BCM. If these two values are different, PCM assumes it is in a new vehicle and resets EEPROM data. This reset may also occur if IPC is replaced.
When this reset occurs, following data will be erased:
- TP Sensor/Idle Learn.
- Transaxle adapts (shift, steady state, and garage shift).
- Transaxle oil life.
- Cruise lash learn.
Resetting TP Sensor/Idle Learn will trigger Code P080 and resetting transaxle oil life will trigger "Change Trans Fluid" message. The TP Sensor/Idle Learn can be relearned by following Code P080 chart. The transaxle oil life may be reset to its previous value using PCM override PS15. The transaxle adapts and will be relearned during normal operation. Cruise lash can be relearned by following "CRUISE LASH LEARN" procedure.
