Anti-Lockout Feature

The Body Control Module (BCM) inhibits the activation of the power door lock feature actuated by the power door lock button when the key is in the ignition cylinder and/or the ignition turns to the RUN position or the START position with any door open. Continuous actuation of the power door lock button for 3 seconds overrides this feature. The BCM continues to prevent door to lock upon wake-up by door lock command from the discrete input if all the conditions are met for anti-lockout. The anti-lockout feature takes precedence over the automatic door lock functions. The doors will not lock if the automatic door lock function is enabled when the anti-lockout feature is active with the gear selector out of the PARK position. The BCM shuts down after the door closes or the BCM shuts down after 10 minutes if the key is left in the ignition switch with the door left open.
