Shift Control Linkage Rod
- Position the shift lever in Park. Raise and support the vehicle. Loosen the adjustment bolt (1) to allow the adjuster to slide freely. See Fig 1
.
- Hold the selector lever on transmission against the rear stop to eliminate any play. Tighten the shift control linkage adjustment bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Lower the vehicle.
- Inspect the operation of starting system with shift lever in each position. The engine should only crank when the lever is in Park or Neutral position.
