Shift Control Cable: Installation

  1. Install the cable through the cowl and carpet.
  2. Install the cable grommet and the bolts in the cowl. Tighten the grommet bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the cable (4) at the shift control assembly (3). See Figure .
  4. Install shift control cable onto floor shift control. See Figure .
  5. Install the cable at the transaxle cable brackets (1). See Figure .
  6. Install the cable at the transaxle selector lever (2). See Figure .
  7. Adjust the cable.
  8. Install the center console. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article.
