Powertrain Control Module: Installation

CAUTION:
Do NOT touch the connector pins or soldered components on the circuit board to prevent possible Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage to the PCM. Turn ignition switch to OFF position when installing or removing the PCM connectors and disconnecting or reconnecting the power to the PCM (battery cable, PCM pigtail, PCM fuse, jumper cables, etc.) to prevent internal PCM damage.
- Install the 2 PCM brackets (3) to the PCM (2). See Figure .
- Install 4 bracket-to-PCM bolts. Tighten PCM bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect PCM harness connectors (1).
- Swing the PCM (2) with bracket (3) up into position under the IP. See Figure .
- Install 2 PCM-to-IP bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Figure .
- Install the IP compartment door into the IP.
- Push in on both sides of the IP compartment to release the safety catches and close the door. See Figure .
- Swing the close out panel (1) up under the PCM and install the 2 retainers. See Figure .
