K183 UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver

The K183 UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver, also referred to as Virtual Key Module (VKM) is the primary control module for the Digital key system. It receives a constant B+ voltage and ground. The UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver communicates with the vehicle via AUTOSAR CAN Bus 5 and with each UHF Low Energy Remote Control Access Sensor Transceiver via Virtual Key Private CAN. The UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver acts as the serial data master to the UHF Low Energy Remote Control Access Sensor Transceiver. The UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver is typically located in a central location of the vehicle interior, often in the center console area. This is to ensure consistent wireless communication coverage in the interior of the vehicle. The UHF Short Range Low Energy Remote Control Access Transceiver takes information gathered from the UHF Low Energy Remote Control Access Sensor Transceiver, as well as information from its own BLE RSSI chip and calculates the position of the mobile devices with respect to the vehicle. Mobile devices position is communicated to BCM in order to allow lock/unlock/starting in the designated zones.
