Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K27 FPCM. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down.
  2. NOTE:

Voltage is supplied once per ignition cycle for approximately 2 s at the time of ignition ON.

  3. Connect a test lamp between the fuel pump control circuit terminal 20 and ground. Verify the test lamp turns ON and OFF as the ignition is turned ON.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.
  4. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp does not stay illuminated between the fuel pump control circuit terminal 20 and ground.
    • If the test lamp stays illuminated, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 ECM.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the K27 FPCM.
