Inflatable Restraint Roof Side Rail Module Replacement - Front

Callout Component Name
WARNING: In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the door pillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key when performing service in the area of the SIS.
WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement .
  3. Remove the upper center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (With AXS) or Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Except AXS) .
  5. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  6. Lower the side of the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
1 Push Pin Retainer (Qty: 4)
2 Inflatable Restraint Roof Side Rail Bolt (Qty: 8)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 Inflatable Restraint Roof Side Rail Module Assembly
Tip: 
  1. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Ensure the roof rail inflator has been fully deployed before disposal. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
