Ignition Power Transistor (2.5L)

  1. Disconnect distributor connectors. Using jumper wires and a 1.5 volt battery, connect positive side of battery to distributor connector terminal No. 6. Connect negative side of battery to terminal No. 5. See Figure .
  2. Using an analog ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals No. 5 and 12. See Figure . Continuity should exist when battery is connected. Continuity should not exist when battery is disconnected. If continuity is not as specified, replace ignition power transistor.
