CAUTION:

Do not disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors before the ignition key is in the off position and the battery cable disconnected. If these steps are not performed damage to the PCM may result from a voltage spike.

NOTE:

The ground strap (3) for the PCM is located at the lower most forward stud. It is not required to remove the ground wire from the stud unless replacement is required.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors (1).
  3. Remove the three nuts (2, 4) and remove the PCM from the battery tray.
