Transmission Control Module (TCM)

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Disengage the lock holding the wire harness connector to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

  4. Remove the fasteners that retains the wire harness bracket.
  5. Separate the wire harness connector from the TCM.
  6. Remove the TCM bolts.

  7. Separate the TCM from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
