Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs) Module

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the washer solvent fill tube mounting bolt, and reposition the washer solvent fill tube.

  3. If equipped, remove the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) cover.

  4. Remove the right front headlamp. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Disconnect the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) electrical connector.

    2 - Solvent Fill Tube Mounting Bolt
    3 - HCU Mounting Bolts
  6. Remove the four Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module to hydraulic control unit (HCU) mounting bolts.
  7. Carefully separate the ABS module from the HCU.
  8. Remove the ABS module from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
