Test 104D - On/Off (Intermittent) Wiper Motor Relay & Control Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 104A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Remove jumper wire. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire) on socket. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to TEST 104F . If voltage is 10 volts or greater, go to next step.
- Connect ON/OFF (intermittent) wiper relay. Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. With BCM connectors connected, backprobe a jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Yellow wire) on BCM bone connector. If wiper motor operates, replace BCM. If wiper motor does not operate, go to next step.
- Leave jumper wire connected. Remove intermittent wiper relay. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground terminal "C" (Dark Green/Yellow wire) on intermittent relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Dark Green/Yellow wire.
