Power Door Lock Test 19A - All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure ignition key is removed. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 19B  .
  2. Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between relay terminals "A" and "C". If resistance is 60-80 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 60-80 ohms, replace relay.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on cavity "C" of door lock relay socket. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
  4. Connect test light between door lock relay socket terminals "A" and "C". See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
  5. Disconnect junction block "A" connector. See Figure . Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and specified terminal. See LOCK RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUITS table. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, repair suspect output circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 50 ohms or greater, replace door lock relay.
