Test 3A - No Response From Body Control Module

NOTE: For connector terminal identification see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. If fault message is BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECTED, go to TEST 3C  . If no fault message exist, remove and inspect junction block fuses No. 2 and No. 6. If either fuse is blown, go to TEST 3B  . If both fuses are okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. BCM is connected to junction block. Connect jumper wire between ground and BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire).
  3. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
  4. Move jumper wire to BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 34 (White/Black wire). Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
  5. Remove jumper wire. Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 10 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is 15 ohms or more, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect BCM from junction block. Turn ignition on. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 7 of junction block internal 23-pin connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  7. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 30 (Dark Green/Red wire) of junction block Black connector "C". If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace junction block. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Dark Green/Red wire.
