CMTC Test 1A - Identifying Compass/Mini-Trip Problems
NOTE:
Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
NOTE:
For CMTC wiring diagram, see INSTRUMENT PANEL - ANALOG
article.
- Using scan tool, select COMPASS/MINI-TRIP. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, or Compass/Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) shows NO DISPLAY (except for direction or temperature), go to TEST 5A .
- Select AUTO SELF TEST. If any display segments fail to illuminate, replace CMTC module. If CMTC displays FAILED, replace CMTC module.
- Diagnosis of CMTC system is separated into 10 faults. Identify fault(s) listed in CMTC SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table and perform indicated test(s).CMTC SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY
