CMTC Test 5A - Incorrect Mileage Or Distance Problems
NOTE:
Perform CMTC TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

. Drive vehicle at least 3 miles (greater than 25 MPH) to update CMTC and perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read engine information under monitor display. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, see VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS . If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
- Observe TP sensor while depressing accelerator pedal. If TP sensor percent does not increase while operating throttle, see TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. If TP sensor percent does increase, go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Start vehicle and place transmission in Drive. Using scan tool, read vehicle speed signal. Increase vehicle speed and observe scan tool. If speed signal changes, system is currently operating correctly. If speed signal does not change, vehicle speed signal may be at fault. See TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
