Fuel Pump Module: Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure from fuel system. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Fuel pump module is located on top of fuel tank. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK . Ensure area around fuel pump module is clean.
  3. Note location of fuel pump module lock nut. See Figure. Using a brass punch and hammer, rotate fuel pump module lock nut counterclockwise and remove from fuel tank. Reservoir on fuel pump module may still contain some gasoline. Remove fuel pump module and discard "O" ring from fuel tank.
