Fuel Pump Module: Removal
- Fuel pump module is located on top of fuel tank. See Fig 1. Fuel tank must be removed for servicing of fuel pump module. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK .CAUTION: When removing fuel pump module from fuel tank, use care, as reservoir on fuel pump module may still contain some gasoline.
- Ensure area around fuel pump module is clean. Disconnect fuel line from fuel pump module by depressing quick connect retainers with thumb and forefinger. Slide fuel pump module electrical connector lock to unlock.
- Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel pump module by pushing down on connector retainer and pulling connector off of module.
- Using Fuel Pump Module Lock Nut Spanner Wrench (6856), remove fuel pump module lock nut. See Fig 2. Reservoir on fuel pump module may still contain some gasoline. Remove fuel pump module from fuel tank. Remove "O" ring from sealing area on shoulder of fuel tank.
