Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read Memory Seat Module-Driver (MSMD) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase MSMD DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Cycle the Adjustable Pedals Switch forward and rearward.
- With the scan tool, read MSMD DTCs.
Does the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the APS INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. Refer to APS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read MSMD DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Adjustable Pedals Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to APS VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Q102)/(Q103) ADJUSTABLE PEDALS SWITCH FORWARD/REARWARD CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Memory Seat Module C6 harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (Q102) Adjustable Pedals Switch Forward circuit at the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
- Check for continuity between ground and the (Q103) Adjustable Pedals Switch Rearward circuit at the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
Is there continuity between ground and either circuit?
Yes
- Repair the (Q102) Adjustable Pedals Switch Forward circuit or the (Q103) Adjustable Pedals Switch Rearward circuit(s) for a short to ground.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to APS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (Q102) ADJUSTABLE PEDALS SWITCH FORWARD CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Q103) ADJUSTABLE PEDALS SWITCH REARWARD CIRCUIT
- Check for continuity between the (Q102) Adjustable Pedals Switch Forward circuit and the (Q103) Adjustable Pedals Switch Rearward circuit in the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
Is there continuity between the circuits?
Yes
- Repair the (Q102) Adjustable Pedals Switch Forward circuit for a short to the (Q103) Adjustable Pedals Switch Rearward circuit.
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to APS VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace and program the Memory Seat Module-Driver (MSMD) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, MEMORY, REMOVAL .
- Perform the APS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to APS VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check for continuity between the (Q102) Adjustable Pedals Switch Forward circuit and the (Q103) Adjustable Pedals Switch Rearward circuit in the Adjustable Pedals Switch harness connector.
