Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE CONDITION IN THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, check the current vehicle configuration in ESM. Perform and other active ESM DTC diagnostics.
- With the scan tool, view ESM DTCs.
Is this DTC active at this time?
Yes
- In accordance with the service information, replace the Shift Indicator with the correct part number for the current vehicle configuration.
- Perform the ESM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ESM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- With the scan tool to read DTCs in all other modules. If any communication DTCs are present, perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that apply. If no other problems are found, test is complete.
