Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) operates by modulating hydraulic pressure to individual brakes when one or more wheel approaches a slip condition. When necessary, the ABS module sends appropriate signals to solenoid valves in the hydraulic actuator. These valves control hydraulic flow to the appropriate caliper or wheel cylinder to prevent further lock-up. See Fig 1 .
