Fuel Rails: Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove air cleaner housing and air ducts. Disconnect negative battery. Remove upper intake manifold. See UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  2. Disconnect fuel injector wiring. Disconnect vacuum hose from pressure regulator. Disconnect fuel pressure and return lines from fuel rail. Remove fuel rail mounting bolts.
  3. Remove Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) linkage rod from lower intake manifold. Remove fuel rail with injectors attached. To remove injectors from fuel rail, remove retainer screw and injector retainer. Using Injector Remover (T94P-9000-AH), remove injector from fuel rail. See Figure.
