Circuit Tests

NOTE: Before performing circuit tests, check for stored DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Ensure all DTCs are corrected before proceeding. Perform appropriate circuit test in accordance with the symptom. See CIRCUIT TEST DIRECTORY TABLE  . It may be necessary to consult wiring diagram when performing circuit test. Wiring diagram is located after the pinpoint tests.
NOTE: When performing DTC tests, technician may be instructed to check Parameter Identification (PID) on a specified component to verify operation of input and outputs for specified module being tested. For checking of PID, see RETRIEVING PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID) INFORMATION under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS in the MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
NOTE: When performing circuit tests, technician may be instructed to perform an ACTIVE COMMAND on a specified component to verify operation of systems controlled by the module being tested. For ACTIVE COMMAND operation, see DIAGNOSTIC COMMAND under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS in the MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
