CMP Synchronizer: Removal
- Note position of CMP sensor electrical connector. Remove CMP sensor. See CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR . Before removing synchronizer housing, position crankshaft to TDC of cylinder No. 1, on compression stroke.
- Apply reference marks on synchronizer housing and engine. Remove synchronizer housing hold-down bolt and clamp. See Figure . Remove synchronizer assembly with intermediate shaft.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
rotate crankshaft while synchronizer is removed from engine.
