Removal & Installation
- Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK & FUEL TANK DRAINING .
- Clean area around fuel pump mounting flange. Using Fuel Tank Sender Unit Socket, remove fuel module retaining ring. See Fig 1. Remove fuel pump module and discard fuel pump module mounting gasket.
- Clean and inspect fuel pump module mounting flange, fuel tank mounting surface and gasket surface. Install NEW fuel pump module mounting gasket on fuel pump module mounting flange. Install fuel pump module into fuel tank. Install fuel pump module retainer ring and tighten against stops. Stop should be felt when aligning raised arrow on top of fuel delivery module to dot on fuel tank.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel tank filler pipe hose clamps and fuel tank support strap bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill fuel tank and check for leaks.
