Test Procedure

  1. AR1 PRELIMINARY DIAGNOSIS FOR DTC P0300 
    • Retrieve and record all DTCs.
    • Record the freeze frame data.
    • Clear all DTCs.
    • Carry out the continuous self-test.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    Yes No
    For DTC P0300, GO to  AR2.
    For all others, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS .    		 The misfire is intermittent and is currently not active. REFER to NO DTCS PRESENT SYMPTOM CHART INDEX , if a driveability concern exists.
  2. AR2 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0300 
    • Carry out a visual inspection. Check for loose connections, and damaged or corroded pins. Wiggle the harness, attempting to recreate the concern.

    Are any wiring or terminal concerns present? 

    Yes No
    REPAIR as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs.
    CARRY OUT the OBD drive cycle. REFER to DRIVE CYCLES .    		 REFER to PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES .
    CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
