Float Test

Ensure fuel tank is less than half full. Remove fuel fill cap to relieve pressure and reinstall cap. Disconnect ORVR fuel tank vapor recirculation hose and connect a vacuum pump/gauge to hose. Plug ORVR fuel tank vapor recirculation line. See Fig 1. Apply vacuum to hose. If vacuum does not hold, float is okay. Go to VALVE TEST . If vacuum holds, replace ORVR Fuel Tank Vapor Control Valve.
