Float Test

Ensure fuel tank is less than half full. Remove fuel fill cap to relieve pressure and reinstall cap. From inside left rear fender panel, remove ORVR fuel tank vapor control valve cover. See STEP 1 in illustration. See Fig 1. Remove bolts from bracket and remove bracket. See STEP 2 in illustration. See Fig 1. Disconnect ORVR fuel tank vapor recirculation hose and connect a vacuum pump/gauge to hose. Plug ORVR fuel tank vapor recirculation line. See Fig 2. Apply vacuum to hose. If vacuum does not hold, float is okay. Go to VALVE TEST . If vacuum holds, replace ORVR Fuel Tank Vapor Control Valve.
