Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting Index(ACC) (2014 2015)

NOTE:  The ACC system is cancelled when the VSA system is activated.

Symptom  Diagnostic procedure  Also check for
HDS does not communicate with the ACC unit Troubleshoot the DLC circuit - Refer to: DLC Circuit Troubleshooting(PGM-FI System) (2014 2015), or DLC Circuit Troubleshooting(PGM-FI System) (2017) .
  • No. A21 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • No. B7 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
ACC indicator (amber) does not come on Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - ACC indicator (amber) does not come on (2014 2015)  or Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting Index(ACC) (2017)   
ACC indicator (amber) does not go off Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - ACC indicator (amber) does not go off (2014 2015)  or Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - ACC indicator (amber) does not go off (2017) .  
ACC activation indicator (on the MID) does not come on Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - ACC activation indicator (on the MID) does not come on (2014 2015) .

Vehicle speed can be set, but there is no ACC indication on the MID Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .  
Vehicle speed cannot be set when the SET switch is pressed (between the 25 mph (40 km/h) and 90 mph (145 km/h))
  • An open in the wire.
  • A short in the wire.
  • The system is in service mode.
Vehicle does not decelerate or accelerate accordingly when the SET or RESUME switch is pressed Test the ACC combination switch . An open in the wire.
Set speed does not cancel when the brake pedal is pressed Test the brake pedal position switch . An open in the wire.
Set speed does not cancel when the MAIN switch is turned off Test the ACC combination switch . An open in the wire.
Set distance cannot be adjusted with the distance switch Test the distance switch .  
Vehicle speed can be set, but vehicle decelerates Check for DTCs in the PGM-FI system with the HDS - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Gear Unit Control System, or How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems (2017) . Faulty ETCS.
Senses a vehicle driving in another lane Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - Senses a vehicle driving in another lane .
  • Incorrect millimeter wave radar installation.
  • Wheel alignment.
Does not sense the vehicle driving ahead Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - Does not sense the vehicle driving ahead .
  • Out of the performance limits.
  • Wheel alignment.
  • Undetectable environment.

  • Incorrect millimeter wave radar installation.
  • Wheel alignment.
