DTC 1702: XM Antenna Error (With Display Audio) (2017)
NOTE:
- First, check the Vehicle 12 volt battery condition .
- This navigation DTC sets when there is poor connectors or loose terminals at the XM antenna connector or an open in XM antenna lead.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.
- 3. Turn on the audio system, and select the XM radio.
- 4. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 1702 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Roof antenna check (SAT/TER line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Roof antenna connector B (2P) - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Roof antenna connector B (2P): disconnected Test point 1 Roof antenna connector B (2P) No. 1 Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5.0 V?
YES
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (SAT/TER line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P): disconnected Roof antenna connector B (2P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P) No. 1 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Display Audio) (2017) Test point 2 Roof antenna connector B (2P) No. 1 Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (With Display Audio) (2017) .
NO
Replace the roof antenna main lead (XM) and/or the roof antenna sub-lead (XM).
