Mic/STRG SW

This diagnosis checks whether the microphone and the HFL-navigation voice control switch are connecting to the HandsFreeLink control unit. If Mic and/or STRG SW shows HFL DTCs (B1775, B1776, B1779, and/or B1780), go to the indicated HFL DTC troubleshooting.

• Press the PICK-UP, HANG-UP/BACK, and TALK buttons. This should cause the each indicator on the screen to momentarily turn green. If it does not briefly turn green, do the HFL switch test .
• If you check the Mic Level, in a normal voice say "testing". The Mic Level indicator on the screen should momentarily turn green. If there is no Mic Level movement when you speak, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015),  or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
