Unit Check (Quick Check)
Some of the tests and screens that are displayed under the Unit Check are different from the more detailed checks listed under other menu options.

ECU Info
This diagnosis checks for problems in the navigation ECU. When you start this diagnosis, the audio-navigation unit may freeze or delay up to a minute while the diagnosis runs.
- D-RAM: Displays the result of the access to the D-RAM (OK/NG).

- To check the D-RAM, select D-RAM Check. then select Yes on the confirmation screen. The system resets automatically.
- Recheck the ECU Info diagnosis. If D-RAM shows NG, replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015), or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- Program (Flash, HDD, DVD): Displays the version of the each software.
- Serial No.: Displays the audio-navigation unit serial number. That should be the same as the serial number found on the upper side of the audio-navigation unit.
- DB Version: Displays the version of the database in the HDD.
- HDD Version: Displays the version of the HDD.
- Flash: Displays the result of the access to the flash memory (OK/NG). If NG, replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015), or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- Model: For this model, the field should begin with T3W.
- Coverage: Displays the destination of the audio-navigation unit.
Display
This diagnosis does additional checks on the GA-Net bus between the audio-navigation unit and the multi-information display unit. This test also checks the internal electronic functions.
- If Connection shows NG, Check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- The version represents the software version in the display.
- If ROM or RAM shows NG, replace the multi-information display unit .
XM (USA and Canada models)
This diagnosis checks the GA-Net bus between the audio-navigation unit and the XM receiver.
If Connection shows NG, the connection may be open or short between the XM receiver and the audio-navigation unit. Check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
CD/DVD Mech
This diagnosis checks the audio-navigation unit internal CD/DVD player mechanism.
Version shows CD/DVD mech version. When the audio-navigation unit can read the version number, Connection shows OK. If the version number cannot be read, Connection shows NG.
- Inserting the CD/DVD mech update disc allows you to select Download. Otherwise it is grayed out.
LaneWatch
This diagnosis checks the LaneWatch camera connection.
- If Connection shows NG, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- If Connection shows OK, press the AUDIO button to display the LaneWatch camera image. To return to the previous screen, press the AUDIO button again.
- LaneWatch SW: LaneWatch switch status on or off.
- LaneWatch camera need to aiming, select Start, and do the LaneWatch camera aiming procedure - Refer to: LaneWatch Camera Aiming (2014 2015), or LaneWatch Camera Aiming (2017) .
B-CAN
This diagnosis checks whether the audio-navigation unit is receiving B-CAN data properly.
B-CAN (Body Controller Area Network) passes information between processors on the network. The B-CAN network uses a communication protocol that transmits data at 125 kbps.
- If ERROR STATUS shows NO ERROR, an error is not detected between B-CAN bus and the audio-navigation unit.
- If any error is detected, check for B-CAN DTCs with the HDS (Honda Diagnostic System). The data displayed in the ID boxes is for factory use only.
GPS
This diagnosis checks the GPS antenna connection and the GPS receiver condition.
- If Antenna shows NG, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- If Receiver in Navi ECU shows NG, replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015), or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- Select Information to see the GPS satellite details (see GPS Information).
Remote Tuner
This diagnosis shows the external radio tuner (AM/FM) status. Make sure the audio-navigation unit radio tuner is turned on.
- Current Frequency can be changed by selecting TUNE.
- Source can be changed in this order: AM/FM by selecting Change.
- ANT +B changes the AM/FM antenna power status on or off.
- Version: Displays the tuner unit software version.
- Serial No.: Displays the tuner unit serial number.
- Part Number: Displays the tuner unit parts number.
HFL
This diagnosis checks first whether the HandsFreeLink control unit is connecting to the audio-navigation unit via the GA-Net bus.
- If HFL shows HFL DTCs (B1775, B1776, B1779, B1780, and/or B1792) and GA-NET shows OK, go to indicated HFL DTC troubleshooting.
- If HFL and GA-NET shows NG, HFL DOES NOT RESPOND (WITH NAVIGATION) (2014 2015) or HFL DOES NOT RESPOND (WITHOUT NAVIGATION) .
- If USB shows NG, THE HFL DOES NOT PHONE BOOK, TXT/E-MAIL (WITH NAVIGATION) (2014 2015) or THE HFL DOES NOT PHONE BOOK, TXT/E-MAIL (WITHOUT NAVIGATION, WITH TOUCH SCREEN) (2014 2015) .
- S/W Version: Displays the HandsFreeLink control unit software version.
- Part Number: Displays the HandsFreeLink control unit parts number.
- Reflash: If the HFL software in the HandsFreeLink control unit needs to be updated, do the HandsFreeLink control unit update - Refer to: HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update (With Navigation) (2014 2015), or HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update (Without Navigation, With Touch Screen) (2014 2015) .
If the HandsFreeLink control unit update. need to update the software, do the HandsFreeLink control unit update - Refer to: HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update (With Navigation) (2014 2015), or HandsFreeLink Control Unit Update (Without Navigation, With Touch Screen) (2014 2015) .
Rear Camera
This diagnosis checks the rearview camera connection.
- If Connection shows NG, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
- If Connection shows OK, press the AUDIO button to display the rearview camera image. To return to the previous screen, press the AUDIO button again.
F-CAN
This diagnosis must have the vehicle is READY TO DRIVE mode.
F-CAN (Fast Controller Area Network) passes information between processors on the network. For example, the F-CAN network passes trip computer information between the gauge and the audio-navigation unit for the trip computer function. The F-CAN network uses a communication protocol that transmits data at 500 kbps.
- If ERROR STATUS shows NO ERROR, an error is not detected between F-CAN bus and the audio-navigation unit.
- If any error is detected, check for F-CAN DTCs with the HDS (Honda Diagnostic System). The data displayed in the ID boxes is for factory use only.
Mic/STRG SW
This diagnosis checks whether the microphone and the HFL-navigation voice control switch are connecting to the HandsFreeLink control unit. If Mic and/or STRG SW shows HFL DTCs (B1775, B1776, B1779, and/or B1780), go to the indicated HFL DTC troubleshooting.
- Press the PICK-UP, HANG-UP/BACK, and TALK buttons. This should cause the each indicator on the screen to momentarily turn green. If it does not briefly turn green, do the HFL switch test .
- If you check the Mic Level, in a normal voice say "testing". The Mic Level indicator on the screen should momentarily turn green. If there is no Mic Level movement when you speak, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
TMC
This diagnosis checks the current state of the RBDS-TMC reception.
- Frequency: Displays frequency receiving at this time.
- Field Strength: Displays reception sensitivity with 0-15;

- 0-5: No signal
- 6: Weak or intermittent signal
- 7-8: Marginal signal
- 9-15: Good signal
- Error Rate Correction: Displays RBDS block error;

- 0: No error
- 1: Synchronous error
- Block Error Rate: Displays the number of block errors per one minute.
- TMC Group Counter: Displays the number of message that is received.
- Provider Count: Displays the number of providers that can be received.
USB Memory Information
This diagnosis displays the USB memory status that is connected to the audio-navigation unit.
If the USB memory is connected to the USB port, the screen displays the connection status (Inserted/Not Inserted), the USB memory size, the Product ID, and the Vender ID.
Car Status
Use this screen to confirm that the audio-navigation unit is properly receiving input signals. Signals equal to (0) are OFF, and signals equal to (1) are ON. If the value on the display does not match the actual vehicle status, then check the wire carrying the signal.
- VSP-Vehicle Speed Pulse from the PCM (audio-navigation unit connector F (18P) terminal No. 10)
The VSP comes from the PCM as a dedicated signal. Internally, the audio-navigation unit compares the actual VP on the map against street data to adjust the pulse to speed scaling factor.

The illumination cancel indication comes from the gauge control module to the audio-navigation unit via the B-CAN bus.
This item detects whether the illumination cancel function is in use.

- ILL-Illumination Indication
The illumination indication comes from the gauge control module to the audio-navigation unit via the B-CAN bus. The navigation uses the signal to determine whether to put the navigation screen into the Day or Night brightness mode.

- REAR DEF-Rear window defogger Indication comes from the gauge control module to the audio-navigation unit via the B-CAN bus.

- ILL DUTY
The illumination dimming duty indication comes from the gauge control module to the audio-navigation unit via the B-CAN bus.
With the headlights on, use the dashlights brightness control knob to dim and brighten the gauge. You should see the value change from 1 (max low) to 22 (max high).
- IGNITION-Power switch position indication
Detects if the vehicle is the READY TO DRIVE mode using information provided over the F-CAN bus.

- FOB (Keyless Remote)

- BACK-Reverse indication from reverse relay (audio-navigation unit connector G (24P) terminal No. 24)
The BACK signal is used by the audio-navigation unit to allow the map screen to show the VP moving backwards when the vehicle is in reverse. This signal is needed because the VSP has no direction indication.

This item indicates the VIN that received from the PCM.

HDD
This diagnosis checks the HDD mount error and the HDD temperature, and displays a list of total and free capacities of each partition.
If HDD Status shows NG, check for hard error codes - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (With Display Audio) (2017) .
Yaw Sensor
This diagnosis checks the gyro functionality based on the two voltages. This device detects when the vehicle turns, and repositions the vehicle position icon on the map screen.
Hard Key
This diagnosis tests the interface dial, the navigation buttons that surround it, and the audio remote switch. For this model, the interface dial and buttons use the serial bus for communications.
To complete the each test, push each button on the audio remote switch, HFL-navigation voice control switch, navigation switch panel, and move the interface dial to each indicated position. As each function is tested, the corresponding button on the display should highlight. To exit, press in and hold the interface dial knob.
- Steering Key: Checks the HFL-navigation voice control switch buttons and the audio remote switch buttons.
- Hard Key: Checks the navigation switch panel buttons.

Speaker Check
This diagnosis checks the audio speakers individually.
Selects NEXT or BACK to select Speaker. A tone should sound from the speaker.
