Power Mirrors (Front Passenger's Power Window Switch) Input Test

NOTE: 

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect the front passenger's power window switch 37P connector - Refer to: Front Passenger's Power Window Switch Removal and Installation, or Rear Power Window Switch Removal and Installation

3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Is Not Obtained

Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 12 (or No. 11), and terminals No. 11 (or No. 12) and No. 3 with jumper wires. Check the right power mirror operation:

The right power mirror should move LEFT (or RIGHT).

  • Faulty right power mirror
  • Poor ground (G503) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 13 (or No. 12), and terminals No. 12 (or No. 13) and No. 3 with jumper wires. Check the right power mirror operation:

The right power mirror should move UP (or DOWN).

  • Faulty right power mirror
  • Poor ground (G503) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
15 BLU Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 15 with a jumper wire Check the right power mirror defogger operation:

The right power mirror defogger should work (the inside lower edge becomes warm).

  • Faulty right power mirror defogger
  • Poor ground (G503) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

*: With moonroof

Is Not Obtained

34 LT BLU Disconnect these connectors:
  • Power window master switch 37P connector
  • Moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector *
Check for continuity between terminal No. 34 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 36:

There should be continuity.

An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 34 and moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector terminal No. 12:

There should be continuity.

An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity to ground:

There should be no continuity.

A short to ground in the LIN (P/W) wire

*: With moonroof

 

5. Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:

NOTE:  After replacing the front passenger's power window switch, DO THE RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT .

Is Not Obtained

4 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be battery voltage.

  • Blown No. B33 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
3 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:

There should be less than 0.2 V.

  • Poor ground (G503)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
