- Problem Verification
-1. Turn The Vehicle To The On Mode.
- 2. Clear The DTC With The HDS.
- 3. Check For Pending Or Confirmed DTCs With The HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U1205 IMA-CAN Malfunction (PCM-Motor Control Module) Is DTC U1205 Indicated?
Yes
The Failure Is Duplicated. Go To Step 2.
No
Intermittent Failure, The System Is OK At This Time. Check For Poor Connections Or Loose Terminals At The PCU And The PCM. If The Freeze Data/On-Board Snapshot Of This DTC Is Recorded, Try To Reproduce The Failure Under The Same Conditions With The Freeze Data/On-Board Snapshot.
- DTC Check
-1. Check For Pending Or Confirmed DTCs With The HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U0038 IMA-CAN Malfunction (Bus-Off (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)) Is DTC U0038 Indicated?
Yes
Go To The DTC U0038 Troubleshooting - Refer To: DTC Troubleshooting: U0038(PGM-FI System) (2014-15) .
No
Go To Step 3.
- Open Wire Check (IMA-CAN A_H/IMA-CAN_H Line)
-1. Turn The Vehicle To The Off (Lock) Mode.
- 2. Jump The SCS Line With The HDS.
- 3. Disconnect The Following Connectors.
PCM Connector C (51P) - Refer To: How To Troubleshoot The Fuel And Emissions Systems (2014-15) PCU 33P Connector - Refer To: PCU Removal And Installation (2014-15) - 4. Check For Continuity Between Test Points 1 And 2.
Test Condition Vehicle Off (Lock) Mode PCM Connector C (51P): Disconnected PCU 33P Connector: Disconnected Test Circuit IMA-CAN A_H/IMA-CAN_H Test Point 1 PCU 33P Connector No. 27 (Wht) Test Point 2 PCM Connector C (51P) No. 32 (Red) Is There Continuity?
Yes
The IMA-CAN A_H/IMA-CAN_H Wire Is OK. Go To Step 4.
No
Repair An Open In The IMA-CAN A_H/IMA-CAN_H Wire Between The PCM (C32) And The PCU.
- Open Wire Check (IMA-CAN A_L/IMA-CAN_L Line)
-1. Check For Continuity Between Test Points 1 And 2.
Test Condition Vehicle Off (Lock) Mode PCM Connector C (51P): Disconnected PCU 33P Connector: Disconnected Test Circuit IMA-CAN A_L/IMA-CAN_L Test Point 1 PCU 33P Connector No. 28 (Red) Test Point 2 PCM Connector C (51P) No. 33 (Grn) Is There Continuity?
Yes
The IMA-CAN A_L/IMA-CAN_L Wire Is OK. Update The Motor Control Module If It Does Not Have The Latest Software. If DTC U1205 Is Indicated After Updated, Substitute A Known-Good PCU - Refer To: Battery Condition Monitor Module Removal And Installation (2014-15) . If DTC U1205 Is Not Indicated After Substitution, Replace The Original PCU - Refer To: Battery Condition Monitor Module Removal And Installation (2014-15) .

Repair An Open In The IMA-CAN A_L/IMA-CAN_L Wire Between The PCM (C33) And The PCU.
