DTC P1D01: All CAN Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module - Traction Motor Control Module) (195)

General Description

GHH256040Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.

The battery control processor is in the battery condition monitor module. The controller area network (CAN) transmits/receives pulsing signals to/from the control modules simultaneously by using two signal lines (F-CAN A_H and F-CAN A_L) and (EPP-CAN_H and EPP-CAN_L). The F-CAN and the EPP-CAN sends same data. If the F-CAN or the EPP-CAN does not transmit/receive data, the normal signal line can transmit/receive data. If the F-CAN and the EPP-CAN does not transmit/receive data, the battery condition monitor module cannot run normally. The battery condition monitor module detects no signal, received data is abnormal or BUS-OFF is received via the F-CAN and EPP-CAN, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status

Execution Continuous
Sequence None
Duration -
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL on, POWER SYSTEM indicator on
OBD Status PASSED/FAILED/NOT COMPLETED (STILL TESTING)

Enable Conditions

Condition Minimum Maximum
Elapsed time since the 12 volt battery voltage reaches to a specified value after the vehicle condition is turned to the ON mode 3 seconds -
12 volt battery voltage 10.2 V -

Malfunction Threshold

The EPP-CAN has no signal and receives data that is abnormal (DTC U1205) or detects BUS-OFF (DTC U0038), and F-CAN has no signal and received data that is abnormal (DTC U0110) or detects BUS-OFF (DTC U0029).

Possible Cause

NOTE:  The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
