Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting - Navigation Switch Panel Button Illumination Does Not Work (2015)

NOTE:
  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Turn the combination light switch to the parking light position.

    - 3. Check if the navigation switch panel buttons are illuminated.

    Are the buttons illuminated?

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the navigation switch panel is OK at this time.

    NO 

    The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

  2. Fuse check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. B25 (10 A)
    Location Under-dash fuse/relay box

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse, and recheck. If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. B25 (10 A) fuse circuit.

  3. Determine possible failure area (interior lights circuit, others)

    -1. Check if several other buttons that are not related to the audio system are illuminated.

    Are the buttons illuminated?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Troubleshoot the interior lights.

  4. Open wire check (ILLUMI+ line)

    -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ON mode
    Test circuit ILLUMI+
    Test point 1 Navigation switch panel 12P connector No. 7 (GRY)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The ILLUMI+ wire is OK. Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the No. B25 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation switch panel.

  5. Open wire check (ILL- (LED) line)

    -1. Turn the combination light switch off.

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Navigation switch panel 12P connector
    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    - 4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Navigation switch panel 12P connector: disconnected
      Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Test circuit ILL- (LED)
    Test point 1 Navigation switch panel 12P connector No. 9 (TAN)
    Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 15 (TAN)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the navigation switch panel .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire (s) between the navigation switch panel and the gauge control module.
