DTC 2608: Rear Camera Diag (Display Audio) (2016-17)

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle battery condition first .
• This audio DTC sets when NG is indicated in the Rear Wide Camera diagnosis (the Rear Wide Camera icon is red in the System Links).
• Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Audio System, or Audio System Self-Diagnostic Function (Without Navigation, Without Touch Screen), or Audio System Self-Diagnostic Function (Without Navigation, With Touch Screen), or How to Troubleshoot the Audio System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the hard error codes.

   - 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.

   - 3. Check for hard error codes.

   Is DTC 2608 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. Determine possible failure area (CAMERA ADPT line, others)

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

   Rearview camera 8P connector

   - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle ON mode
   	Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
   Test point 1	Rearview camera 8P connector No. 6 - Refer to: Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2-door: Without Navigation), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2013), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2014 2015 2016)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there about 3.0 V?

   YES 

   The CAMERA ADPT wire is OK. Go to step 4.

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. Open wire check (CAMERA ADPT line)

   -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle ON mode
   	Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector C (24P) No. 19 - Refer to: Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2013), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2013), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2014), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2014), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Normal Audio) (2016-17)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there about 3.0 V?

   YES 

   Repair an open in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera.

   NO 

   Replace the audio unit - Refer to: Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Without Touch Screen), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation (With Touch Screen), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .

4. Rearview camera check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected

   2-Door 

   Test point 1	Rearview camera 8P connector No. 2 - Refer to: Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2-door: Without Navigation), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2013), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2014 2015 2016)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   4-Door 

   Test point 1	Rearview camera 8P connector No. 1 - Refer to: Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2-door: Without Navigation), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2013), or Rearview Camera Connector for Inputs and Outputs (4-door: Without Navigation) (2014 2015 2016)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the rearview camera - Refer to: Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (4-door), or Rearview Camera Removal and Installation (2-door) .

   NO 

   Go to step 5.

5. Open wire check (CAMERA V GND line)

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Rearview camera 8P connector: disconnected
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector C (24P) No. 4 - Refer to: Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2013), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2013), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2014), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2014), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (With Touch Screen) (2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Without Touch Screen) (2015), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17), or Audio Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Normal Audio) (2016-17)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   There is an open in the wire between the audio unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.

   NO 

   Replace the audio unit - Refer to: Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Without Touch Screen), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation (With Touch Screen), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
