DTC 1405: Audio Error 5

NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when the internal temperature of the HDD rises above 158
F (70
C). The audio-navigation unit is designed to shut down to protect the HDD. This could be caused by an inoperative audio-navigation unit fan or if the dash temperature exceeds the maximum. Do the troubleshooting when the unit is within the allowable temperature range.
- If the audio-navigation unit displays an error message when you turn on the navigation system, follow the instructions - Refer to: Navigation System Error Messages, or Navigation System Error Messages (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Problem verification
-1. Check that the temperature is below 158 F (70 C) in the dash.
- 2. Clear the hard error codes.
- 3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.
- 4. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 1405 indicated?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
