DTC 1702: XM Antenna Error (Display Audio) (2016-17)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- This navigation DTC sets when there is poor connectors or loose terminals at the XM antenna connector or an open in XM antenna lead.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System, or How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the hard error codes.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode.
- 3. Turn on the audio system, and select the XM radio.
- 4. Check for hard error codes.
Is DTC 1702 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- XM antenna check (SAT/TER line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
XM antenna 2P connector - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode XM antenna 2P connector: disconnected Test point 1 XM antenna 2P connector No. 1 Test point 2 Body ground Is there about 5.0 V?
YES
NO
Go to step 3.
- Open wire check (SAT/TER line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P): disconnected XM antenna 2P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector M (2P) No. 1 - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2013), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2014), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2015 2016), or Audio-Navigation Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (Display Audio) (2016-17) Test point 2 XM antenna 2P connector No. 1 Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit - Refer to: Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation, or Audio-Navigation Unit Removal and Installation (Display Audio) (2016-17) .
NO
Replace the XM antenna lead and/or the XM antenna sublead.
